Diana’s first book, the critically praised Kovacsland: A Biography of Ernie Kovacs (Harcourt Brace Jovanovich), was the definitive study of the pioneering 1950s television comedian who influenced Letterman, Shandling, and Saturday Night Live. The book landed the author interviews with Charlie Rose, Larry King, and Good Morning America, and it was lauded by Variety as “the sort of serious treatment great television artists deserve.” She is currently at work on a magical-realist novel based on the true story of Cuban-American “earth body artist” Ana Mendieta, which has received several fellowships and grants.
