EDITED BOOKS

I’m a book midwife: I help birth books in their best possible form while nurturing the tender souls of their authors. As a freelance editor, I do developmental, line, and copy editing of award-winning books (memoir/biography, art/art history, spirituality, Latinx/Mexico/border subjects, and fiction/poetry). I also translate art/art history texts from English into Spanish. My clients include Sounds True, New World Library, University of Arizona Press, Harwood Museum of Art, Girl Friday Productions, Trilce Ediciones, other established publishers, and independent authors.

On staff I’ve been Editor in Chief of International Documentary Magazine and Associate Editor of Emmy: The Magazine of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

Books I’ve edited have won the PEN American Literary Award—Los Angeles, the Willa Cather Award for Contemporary Fiction, the Sigurd F. Olson Nature Writing Award, the Ambroggio Prize (7 times), New Mexico–Arizona Book Awards (11 times), International Latino Book Awards (5 times), New Mexico Press Women Zia Book Awards (twice), Historical Society of New Mexico prizes (3 times), and other honors.
