EDITED BOOKS

I’m a book midwife: I help birth books in their best possible form while nurturing the tender souls of their authors. As a freelance editor, I do developmental, line, and copy editing of award-winning books (memoir/biography, art/art history, spirituality, Latinx/border subjects, and fiction/poetry) for Sounds True, New World Library, Museum of New Mexico Press, University of Arizona Press, University of New Mexico Press, the Harwood Museum of Art, Girl Friday Productions, and independent authors.

On staff I’ve been Editor in Chief of International Documentary Magazine and Associate Editor of Emmy: The Magazine of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

Books I’ve edited have won the PEN American Literary Award—Los Angeles, the Willa Cather Award for Contemporary Fiction, the Sigurd F. Olson Nature Writing Award, the Ambroggio Prize (6 times), New Mexico–Arizona Book Awards (11 times), International Latino Book Awards (5 times), New Mexico Press Women Zia Book Awards (twice), Historical Society of New Mexico prizes (3 times), and other honors.
